Integration of Leading & Lagging Indicators for Safety

Too often lagging and leading indicators are viewed as addressing completely separate issues when in fact they are two sides of the same coin.

Lagging indicators identify challenge areas, leading indicators document efforts to improve safety in those areas and then the lagging indicators document the effectiveness of those efforts.

This cycle creates a system of ongoing feedback and improvement which results in safer work environments.
